When you say "buff", you are describing a chickens color - not the breed.
Other factors for life expectancy are -
- How well they are taken care of
- Environmental factors
- Amount of stress
The average dual-purpose bird, PROPERLY taken care of all it's life, could live for up to 15 years - though it's not common. Production birds (leghorn, sex links, etc) die long before other breeds due to internal body stress.
They need no special diet, B/Orps eat the same things as all other breeds of chicken.
