a very long time i got a quarter that is from the 30s it is still worth the same value as today
Not exactly ...
Nearly all US quarters dated 1964 and earlier have been removed from circulation because they're worth far more for their silver content. Any quarter from the 1930s is worth a minimum of 10 times face value, possibly more depending on condition and mint mark.
Quarters dated 1965 and later are made of copper-nickel so they're only worth 25 cents. 1965 quarters still turn up in change fairly regularly so it's not really possible to say how long they'll remain in circulation until more years have passed.
In the days of silver coinage, quarters that were 50 or more years old would sometimes still show up, so that's probably a reasonable number to work with. It's also hard to make a comparison because back then the quarter underwent a full redesign about every 25 years; the older ones stood out and were often scooped up as curiosities. In spite of the different reverse designs every year on modern quarters, they still carry variations on the same portrait of George Washington that was introduced 80 years ago. That means there's less incentive for people to pull old ones from change.
A 1972 Washington quarter is just a quarter, many are still in circulation.
According to the Treasury, 7 years on average.
The 1967 Washington quarter has no silver and is still in circulation, the coin is face value.
It's the Kansas state quarter and is worth 25 cents, like all of the state quarters currently in circulation.
1970 quarters are still found in circulation and are not only face value.
