Well, many people may have heard that the Twinkie has a never ending shelf life. This is partway true. The Twinkie will not go bad. It's like milk; on the container is a "sell by" date. After that date, you can choose to drink the milk or not. The Twinkie has one of these dates too. You can make the choice to eat the Twinkie before or after the date, but if you choose after, then the Twinkie won't be as fresh. Twinkies do not go moldy. So, if you prefer spoiled milk... eat a year old Twinkie.

∙ 11y agoSadly, yes. Hostess says it does have plans to sell it's major products (Twinkies, WonderBread, Devil - Dogs etc.), though. I heard this today while watching Mecum Auto Auction. Don't loose hope yet, though!

∙ 14y agoAn unopened Twinkie is good for about three weeks. The company regularly removes Twinkies from store shelves after two weeks, and puts new cakes in.
If you look on the Twinkie package, there is an expiration date.
