Typhoon is the name for very severe tropical storms in the vicinity of East Asia but otherwise the behaviour of a typhoon is virtually the same as a Hurricane or Cyclone. Basically they are just different names for the same phenomenon in different parts of the world.
As a seafarer I have experienced being in the middle of typhoons when my ship was in the east Pacific Ocean near Japan and they are not nice things to meet up with. There is normally a period of about 8 to 12 hours during which the previous normal weather gradually changes and wind force gradually builds up more and more with very heavy rain as it comes closer. The nearer the eye of the typhoon gets to you the stronger the winds get and the more unpleasant it is for the people who have the misfortune to be there, and the more heavy will be the damage caused whether at sea or on land.
Then when the eye of the typhoon passes through you, there suddenly is this eery period of about a minute or so when you get this sudden calming of the sea, but the swell waves will still be very considerable if you are at sea and the ship will still be rolling heavily and conditions extremely uncomfortable. Then immediately after the eye has passed through, the wind will suddenly again immediately build up to the same speed as it was before now be in a different direction. e.g. if it was (say) northerly force 12 as it approached you, wind will suddenly have changed to southerly force 12. The maximum speed of the wind can be anything above 50 mph.
It will then be about 10 hours before the winds eventually subsides and the weather returns to normal calm with blue skies. But to answer your question, the exact time it lasts will be dependent on how fast that particular typhoon is travelling up to time it hits you, as they do vary in speed. So for any typhoon you really do need to check with the Storm warning service from the Japanese weather bureau to ascertain its course,, maximum wind speed and speed of the movement of the centre of that specific typhoon.

A typhoon typically takes around 5-14 days to form, starting from a cluster of thunderstorms over warm ocean waters until it develops into a full-fledged tropical cyclone with strong winds and heavy rainfall. The exact duration can vary based on various factors like atmospheric conditions and water temperature.
The next typhoon after Typhoon Auring in the Philippines would be named Typhoon Bising.
