Roosters don't lay eggs. Hens do.
When a sexually active rooster is first introduced to a flock of unfertile hens it will take a minimum of 30-36 hours from when the rooster first mounts a hen to produce the first fertilized hatchable egg. If the flock has many hens and only one rooster, it may require several days before mating with all hens takes place. In large flocks of hens (12 or more) it is advisable to allow at least four or five days before expecting a high level of fertility in all of the eggs. If the rooster or hens are one-year or more in age, the waiting period may need to be increased.
I'll tell you as soon as they've come out, someone told me about 20 days and one of our hens is sitting on her eggs now.

Hens stop laying eggs. The main reason is because they need extra energy to produce new feathers, and another reason is that the pigment in their eggshells comes from the pigment in their feathers. Molting can take between three and six weeks.
The amount of roosters needed for breeding hens is about one rooster per ten hens
I believe it is best if you dont introduce just one hen. there is a better chance of introducing two hens that know each other to another two hens which know each other. that way the hens you had alredy will not pick on the new hen. And i am not sure how long i would wait but it may take at least a few weeks. I had the same problem not too long ago!what you should do is put the third hen in a small cage inside the hutch/cage that you have the other hens in. only leave the third hen in there for a week at most! make sure that the other hens can see her! this will help in that the other two hens will get used to seeing her with them and then after the week release the 3rd hen with the othe hens ! they should get a long! good luck
