It depends on your unit. Most infantry units require quarterly qualification. Some units require annual qualification. Your qualification requirement probably is whatever your commander says it is.

It should be three months, as weapons qualification is a quarterly requirement.

That statement is absolutely wrong. IAW AR 600-8-19 Para 3-42a., weapons cards are good for 24 months.
