The limit is 3-5 days on cooked food. The safest way to do it is to date with a label all the things you cook three to five days from when you first prepared it. If the date is expired throw it out. Also, if it has been sitting out for a long time without heat under it, throw it out.

∙ 13y agoIt is a good idea to keep all three parts separate. Keep your noodles in one container, your meatballs in another, and your sauce in another. The reason for this is all three have different rates of decomposition, going bad. Noodles are usually the first to go bad after about 3 days. The meat and then the sauce go bad, in that order. I had all three together at once in a plastic container. Once the noodles started to go bad, it affected the sauce causing overnight fungus growth. Once the sauce goes, your meatballs are no longer safe to eat. Hope this helps.
