How long does it take a letter to be delivered from the US to Afghanistan?

i am in the U.S. Navy and my job is the post office. if you were to mail a letter via fist class from any were in the us it would take at lest 2-3 days to get to New York for the correct dispatch to be sent to Afghanistan. and then depending on how often a flight leaves NY. (usually 1-2 times a week) then you have a 2 day travel to get to Afghanistan where it will be processed at a custom type location (1-2 days) and then disbatched to a local postoffice. Now you are in the Afghanistan postal system and now it depends on how far away it is going from the point of entry to the country and if your letter is going to a remote location.

all in all it will take you letter 7 days to get to the country at best and 12 days not at best. and that is just to get the letter in the the country of Afghanistan (not delivered)
