How long does it take before it is safe to hold a baby rabbit?

1) you can hold a baby rabbit after 24 hour very carfully but make sure to have sented you hands with either holding the mother first of rubbing your hands against their bedding be sure to make sure the mother is out of the way of this, this reason for this is that she may be a little bit nervous when she sees you handiling them. the myth of the mother abandoing them or eating them is not true she may eat them or abandom them in the first 24hours if you handle them but after then she will be fine with it as this is just a mythgood luck with this and don't belive all myth be careful, don't panic and love them2) you shouldnt hold the babies until at least a week or two because you dont want the mother to stress. yes the mother may not eat or abandon her babies but she may get nervous and scared and try to bite you. she would probably not trust you either. my advice is just be careful and look for signs telling you that she is giving you her permission.

The mother rabbit will look after them in the nest. If you are experinced and your rabbit trusts you then you can basically hold the kit in first few days but don't disturb the nest e.g. clean out till at least 1 week.

at 3 weeks it depends.... If you are bottle feeding your gonna have to hold them as soon as they're born so you can feed them. If they're being nursed wait till there partially weaned.
