In normal circumstances, a person will notice some signs of improvement 24 to 72 hours after starting amoxicillin. If there is no improvement after 3-4 days, the patient should speak to their doctor to see if a different antibiotic should be prescribed.

∙ 13y agoI have been on it for 24 hours (2 doses) and just took my 3rd dose. The infection in my lungs has gone from green yucky stuff to clear but I am still hardly able to breathe. I am hoping by tomorrow evening I will be able to breathe without albuterol treatments.
