Odd question, but I fear my 100 lb dog is near her end and wondered how to handle and how much time I'd have to figure it out. The answer I got on decomposition was: It takes approximately six hours in average 60 degree temp. Warmer weather can drop the time in 1/2. Got the same answer online later on how to handle remains. how does it take for grabage to degrade
Rubber takes 50 to 80 years to degrade.
If it has plastic outside, the thickness of a plastic bag, that might take 5 years to degrade. If it is filled with cotton, that would take 5 months to degrade.
Biodegradable plastic bags can degrade in a few weeks.
What is it made of? Diaper with plastic coverings will never degrade completely. What happens is the plastic over months and years slowly breaks into tiny pieces, which remain in the soil, or are eaten by animals and insects.
