8to9 It depends on which part of the large intestines you mean. It takes about 90 minutes to make its way through the ascending colon (first part). It takes about 1440 minutes (that's 24 hours) to go through the transverse colon (second part). Once it gets into the descending and sigmoid colon (last two parts) its pretty much in storage waiting to be descreted. So it takes about 25 hours for it to get through your large intestines, a far cry from the 8 to 9 that someone else guessed (i'm hoping) earlier. You can't just judge it from when you eat to when you need to go to the bathroom.
first the food passes through your esophagus then to your small intestines and then your large intestines
your stomach and small intestines break food down and anything that gets to your large intestines exits your body through the anus
From the stomach, the food moves into the small intestines. After the small intestines the food moves into the large intestines.
Food both travel through them, and they are both intestines.
Involuntary, as we are not conscious of pushing food through the digestive system.
The mouth and then the esophagus.
mouth, esophagus, stomach, large and small intestines, and the colon.("'\(o.o)/"')
Large Intestine
Well, food goes down your trachia and in to your stomatch were it is then broken down and sent to your small intestines and then your large intestines untill, well, you know what happens next.:)
when food is eaten it travels through the mouth, down the oesophagus into the stomach into the small intestines, then the large intestines, before it's finally in the gullet where the anus will help force the food out. although food goes through all of this, energy from the food called glucose will be sent by big amounts around the body, only when it reaches the intestines.
large intestine
Food goes through the esophagus down to the stomach before traveling through the intestines (large and small) and finally into the colon and out the anus.
