depends upon the person and the amount of hopes, dreams and emotions invested. usually, the longer the relationship the longer it takes to heal. healing is best accomplished with professional therapy and/or loving friends who have experienced a similar pain. one of the best books that helped me was "Forgiving the Unforgivable" by Beverly Flanagan, M.S.S.W. All loving relationships will hurt-it is inevitable. this is the cost of loving. Relationships are necessary and serve the point of fine-tuning us as loving human beings. consider yourself a loving member of the family of Man.
