You dont and even after they are hooked back up the code would have most likely been erased after the battery was disconnected.
its actually code 12 which means that the battery or computer has been disconnected within the last 50 cranks
Code 12 on any Chrysler or Jeep vehicle simply indicates the battery has been disconnected. Most of the time this code is induced when someone has disconnected the battery as a means to clear trouble codes. This code will clear itself after several successful starts
it should, doesn't matter if battery is disconnected for 10 minutes or whole day
On Pre-OBDII cars - Chrysler use 2 digit codes. So I believe you have 2 separate codes "12" and "55". "12" is the battery has been disconnected recently "55" is end of stored codes
Battery has been disconnected in last 50 starts.
According to Haynes Repair manual, fault code 12 (1 flash, pause, 2 flashes from check engine light) means 'Memory standby power lost'. In other words, the battery has been disconnected recently. Not usually indicative of a problem, unless your battery hasn't been disconnected recently. Then you might want to look for a short between the battery and the engine control module. Code 55 just means 'end of stored codes'.
