There are two gibbous moons: The waxing gibbous moon and the waning gibbous moon. From New Moon to Waxing Gibbous, it is about 11 days; from New Moon to Waning Gibbous, it is about 18 or 19 days.

immediately after the instant of First Quarter, and lasts until the instant of Full
Moon. So the time between First Quarter and waxing gibbous is zero.

∙ 11y agoIn one sense, no time at all since the Moon's terminator (that's the line between dark and illuminated portions) is constantly moving. However, if you mean how long before some observer NOTICES the waxing crescent, which is important to strict Muslims, the usual time is two days.
To make things more confusing, some refer to the waxing crescent AS the "New Moon" and the completely unlit phase is the "dark of the Moon." This actually makes a little more sense since this is when one sees the Moon again for the first time since it "vanished."
Just remember that the Moon's Synodic Period (from phase to that phase again) is 29 1/2 days.
