Where is the starter on a 1997 Honda Civic?
I assume you submerged the starter. Remove the starter and place it in an over set at 150 degrees. Leave it for 12 hours. I should be throughly dry by then. If after this it does not function, replace it.
Yes it will as long as it's a FE C6. Also, if you do install it make sure of the starter you have. If you have the long neck style starter you will need to replace the flywheel and starter to have it fit. You can use the one from a 66 and up 390 motor.
I have a 08 Chevy Cobalt. It took me about an hour and a half to replace the crank position sensor. Disconnect your battery and unbolt your starter; you can leave the starter wired up just move it out of your way. The sensor sits behind the starter. Be careful when disconnecting the plug for the sensor so you don't break it. You can disconnect is from up top so you can see what you're doing. Replace sensor, replace starter, reconnect your battery, and your back on road.
id say an hour
sit in a chair and eat pinapple all day long then brush your teeth
two minutes
replace it with a Toyota starter, not an aftermarket one. aftermarket starters don't last too long because they are only cleaned and sprayed for a nice look. Check the link on the right.
There are a bunch of "solenoids" on a typical vehicle, but, the most common usage of the term is in reference to the startersolenoid.Ford starter solenoids have been integrated into the starter unit for a good number of years, including those on the Windstar. So to replace the starter solenoid is to replace the starter.See "Related Questions" below for more about doing just that...After thinking about this a bit it has to be on the starter, which is on the lower left side of the engine. I was trying to confuse this with the starter relay which Ford has long mounted up on the fender and makes things easy to locate starting problems. The solenoid is located inside the starter.
That all depends on if you abuse the starter by cranking too long. I have 170,000 on original starter.
As a part of your routine maintenance you should have your battery "Load Tested" at least once a year. When it fails testing replace it. If you run it too long it starts to harm the alternator and starter.
1996 If it's not broke why fix it, however a 2002 starter would probably have been replaced at least three to fives times based on it's now 2007 soon will be 2008. The fact that most starters last usually a year or year and a half. If that does not answer your question it's might be best to reflect to your owners manual or car dealership for advice. He was not asking how long until the old started would quit. he is trying to say that he starter is broken and wants to know the length of time that it would take to replace it. The correct answer is..... that it would probably take you around a hour, if you know what you are doing and have the right tools.
