It varies from person to person. Some people don't have a problem with the sting itching at all; in others it can last for a couple of days. Try using something like calomine lotion to reduce the itching.

The sensation of itch is because of histamine and neuropeptide Y. The substance in the sting causes all the capillaries (small blood vessels that actually supply blood to the tissues) to become leaky, because fo which the substance is carried farther away from the site of sting (INFLAMMATION). Moreover all these chemicals that induce inflammation make the various tissues more sensitive to pain and touch.

If you are not allergic to bee's sting, it takes a few minutes to relieve the pain. If you are allergic, keep on with yourself an anti allergic ointment, and pills of anti allergic medicine, prescribed by your medical doctor.
