On the new improved road it could be done in a little over an hour. It used to take two and half hours. Be advised that the resort area is some 20 miles long and some hotels will take longer to get to than others. Also remember that there usually is a Red Stripe and smoke break that will add 15 minutes to the trip.
From the roundabout in Negril to Black River is about an hour and a half. It can be done in less if you don't get stuck behind a overloaded lorry and miss all the potholes. Two hours if you stop for a red stripe and be easy on the overtaking.
