It takes about 2-4 weeks to come in the mail.
0-60 days. 0-60 days.
2-3 weeks Sources: DMV info
It should take only a couple of weeks to get your license by mail. If you have not received it within 30 days, call to find out what happened to it. You can contact your local license office or reach the state driver's license information line at 651-297-3298.
The license will be sent in the mail; in the short term you are given a temporary to last until you get the mailed permanent license.
You would have to wait for the state of Florida to mail it to your current location.
If Illinois allows mail-in renewals, yes. Otherwise, no.
How long before i receive my nail specialist license online to download or by mail??:
If your license has expired you have the same options to renew as those who hold a valid driver's license: * Online * In person * By mail The DMV won't charge you additional late fees, but you will be cited by the police if you're caught driving with an expired license. To determine whether your license is expired, check your driving record or the date on your driver's license.

I am currently at 35 days waiting and am starting to wonder the same thing. If you go to the CA site it will tell you your new license will be issued within 60 days.
It does seem weird but, Yes... you do need to mail your actual driver's license. They will not accept anything but original documents. There is that risk of possibly losing your Driver's License if you do choose to use that as your form of ID. If you'd rather not take that risk , you may opt to take the ap and your Driver's License in to your nearest SS office. Or, choose a different form of ID when mailing (those need to be certified).
