By SHIP, e.g. the Queen Mary 2, it will take about 5 days to travel from New York to Southampton, U.K., then perhaps another day from there to Paris depending on how long it takes to debark, go through customs, and what method you use to go from Southampton to Paris (car or train). I have made the crossing (QE2) and it is *extremely* pleasant. Please be aware that in travel terminology, a BOAT is a little thing like a cabin cruiser or even a dinghy, and I'm sure you didn't want to go that way, LOL!
From the New York port to the Galveston port is approx 1872 nautical miles. A boat traveling at 18 knots would arrive in about 4 days 8 hours
Depends on how fast the boat is traveling. On a boat traveling at 30 mph it will take 30 minutes.
