It depends on the skill of the mechanic. It can take anywhere from 4-10 hrs. now if your head gasket is warped you will have to take it to have it milled that takes from 1 day to several days. if not you can just buy a completely new one that fits perfectly for about $150.

How do you repair car that emits white smoke?

If white smoke is coming from the exhaust you have a blown head gasket, cracked head, or both. If you have been driving this car in this condition very long then you have done serious internal engine damage. If this just started, stop driving the car immediately. The repair is to replace the head gasket and inspect the head for damage.

What would you recomendmend to add to the radiator of Toyota landcruiser to fix a blown head gasket or cracker head?

Nothing. There is nothing you can add to the coolant that will repair a blown head gasket or cracked head. There are products you can use in an emergency to possibly get you home but these are just temporary fixes that will not last long. The only permanent fix is to open the engine up, replace the head gasket or head if necessary. STOP driving your Toyota immediately or you will have severe permanent engine damage.

How do you repair an engine with a blown head gasket?

The head or heads will have to be remove and inspected for cracks or warpage. You then replace the gasket and reinstall the head. Drain the oil and change the filter. Replace the thermostat and pour in fresh coolant. Unless you ran it hot or drove it for a long period of time in this condition you may be ok. If you just kept driving it then you will have damage to the rings and bearings an the engine may need an overhaul. Really depends on how long the engine was driven with a blown gasket.

How long does it take to replace a head gasket?

if a small gasket crack is suspected then it may be possible to fix by using a bottle of Bar's Head Gasket Repair. It is a permanent repair and only costs around $10-$12. Much easier than breaking down to the head gasket.

How long will fourwheeler run with a bad head gasket?

If it is water cooled it will run until the bearings and internal engine components completely wear out, which will happen in short order. If it is air cooled it will run much longer. It would be foolish to run any engine with a blown head gasket. Repair it.

How long could a blown head gasket drive?

Every minute you drive a vehicle with a blown head gasket there is just that more severe internal engine damage. Drive it long enough and you will be buying a new engine or at the very least having this one completely rebuilt.
