As Astrology is a pseudo science whether you know it or not doesn't really matter. What counts is knowing the buzzwords and science sounding terms and the skills of cold reading to determine if the clients are buying into the patter. As far as j how long does it take, a con man could probably pick up enough to start his own business with a few hours work on the internet or at a library. if the potential astrologer buys into the reality of the process and signs up with a college of astrology or online course it will take as long as the operator of the course feels he can drain money out of the new student. Then there are fees to keep your license up to date and polish your chakras every once in a while.
