Donating
If it is your first time, you will need to go through a registration process first. Then you are given the go-ahead to donate. This could take around 2 hours to 3 days to complete.
If you have already registered, it should take around 10 minutes to donate blood.
Blood testing
Around 10-30 minutes depending on method of extracting the blood.
At a minimum, it takes about 2 weeks before enough antibodies are produced in the blood so that a test for HIV would be reactive (positive).
It can take up to two month to get out of the blood but it can traces which isn't what the cops check your blood for is the rest of your life
