Becoming a pharmacy tech does not specifically require "years." A pharmacy technician must simply be qualified (by either experience or on-the-job-training) and have a high-school diploma. Certain states have different requirements as far as certification (just an exam) or registration with their state's board of pharmacy (pay the fee). For instance, Texas requires all pharmacy technicians be certfied by the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) and register with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. For more info, visit http://tsbp.state.tx.us or Google search your state + "board of pharmacy" for the requirements. Have a great day. James Freeman, CPhT Victoria, TX cpht@jfcomputing.net
