This is a very difficult major repair.
Hi Don't panic this is normally caused by the failed head gasket seeping coolant on to the head bolts It is very unlikely the block is cracked best wishes
Perhaps cracked block?
The firing order of a Rover 1.4 16v K series engine is 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2. The number 1 cylinder is on your right as you face the engine.

only if its the police special. hahahah i can only guess ,does the exhaust header have a ring gasket or a flat gasket. 92, cames in 8v or 16 motors. and 8v has flat. 16v has both , flat on short 3 bolt header and ring on long 2 bolt header. i just did 3 motors. amazing
Rover 25 1.4 16v 2003 manual states specification ACEA A2 (but is now obsolete) use any brand Grade10w 40 Fully or part synthetic.
eurotaxolyslager says... 4.5 litres for 1.1 16V, 1.4 16V, 1.6 16V First Choice, Q8 Formula F1 10W-50 or secondly Formula Plus 15W-40 Manual transmission Q8 T55 75W=80 And 4.5 litres for 1.8, 16V same engine oils... but Manual and automatic transmissions use a Q8 special product (contact their technical service department)
