Those that have retired from any form of military, plus any family members are eligible upon the retirement of said person. Referrals are also excepted.

There is no specific duration requirement for someone to sign up for Navy Federal Credit Union (Navy Fed). Active duty, reserve, and retired members of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, as well as certain civilian personnel and their families, are eligible to join Navy Fed. As long as you meet their membership criteria, you can sign up regardless of how long you have been in the Navy.
