It depends if your freezer has a star rating. Freezers have star ratings (UK) from one star through to four. One to two stars are normally the ratings for freezer compartments contained within a fridge. Above three stars normally are related to self contained freezers. Food freezing storage times can be found on food packaging.
One star - one week
Two Stars - two weeks
Three stars - one month
Four Stars - three months maximum.
So therefore this guide should be used, which will keep your meat in a consumable state upon defrosting.
So if your purchase is oover the above date then it would not be suitable for human consumption.
