1991
Sega's mascot has been Sonic the Hedgehog since 1991 when he replaced Alex Kidd.
Has not been stated by SEGA yet.
No information regarding the release date of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 2 has been released by SEGA.

Well, hard to say. Star Wars was a very hard hitting movie. But SEGA has been around longer..... and Sonic has been in it a REALLY long time..... In my opinion Sonic The Hedgehog.....
Shadow has been playable in games after his self titled game. He is playable in Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic and the Olympic Winter games, Sonic and SEGA Superstar Tennis, Sonic and SEGA All-Star Racing, Sonic Riders, Sonic Riders Zero Gravity and soon to be Sonic Free Riders, Sonic Chronicles the Dark Brotherhood, Sonic and the Black Knight he was playable as Lancelot and Sonic and the Secret Rings in multiplayer.
Yes,actually I work in SEGA and there has already been one!Its hard to find though!
Sonic has been in four cartoons: Sonic The Hedgehog The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic Underground Sonic X He has also been in one film, Sonic The Hedgehog The Movie.
I'd say Dr. Eggman, who is also his rival.
Sonic's real name is in fact Sonic. Although other continuities and Sonic adaptations may change it to suit their storylines, in the canon games, there is no mention of Sonic's name being anything else other than Sonic.Originally Sonic's full name was to be Olgilvie Maurice Hedgehog. His fist name has never been mentioned in any sonic adaptation, so there is no way to know if they simply scraped the idea or have yet to reveal it. His middle name being Maurice has been mentioned in several continuities however.
No real son of Sonic has been anounced but in a teaser by Sega for the new Sonic game you can see a little hedgehog that looks like Sonic running next to him. He might be Sonics son.
Sega's attempt to compete with Nintendo came through the most after creating there mascot character Sonic the Hedgehog who boosted the sales of the company sky high. Nintendo's character Mario had been dominated the video game industry for years after his initial appearance and Sega's plan to compete was to release as many titles of Sonic as possible. In the end the Sega and Nintendo video game war began and Sonic and Mario became known as ultimate rivals. Although they are rivals they are friendly towards another knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses and respect each other.
