If humans are said to come from monkeys and gorillas, or are similar species, gorillas are not much older than humans, you would think. Gorillas have been around not much shorter than mammals in general have been on this Earth. Gorillas were first medium sized monkey type creatures, but with many predators bigger than them, they evolved to be much bigger. Gorillas then grew so big they were about 4 times bigger than gorillas today, that is where people think the ideas for King Kong, and Mighty Joe Young came from, but they were not that big as King Kong.
