Arabs did not have written records prior to the 7th Century CE, but we know from both Arab sources from after that point and from non-Arab sources both prior and post that they were fighting prior to this point as well. The Bedouin Tribes of Arabia fought for centuries. It can easily been presumed that Arabs have fought one another and non-Arab adversaries for at least 2300 years. Prior to the point, there are no mentions of Arabs in foreign written materials and as the Arabs have no written materials from that time, we have no knowledge of whether or not people prior to that point in time would have been Arabs anyway.

If the question is asking when the Jews and Arabs have been fighting each other to determine the fate of the former British Mandate of Palestine, the answer is that they have been fighting each other since the 1920s. If the question is asking when Jews and Arabs first fought at all, the earliest historically verified battles fought by Jews happened nearly 2800 years ago and the Bible alludes to even earlier confrontations. There is minimal documentation on Arabs that has survived from over 2000 years ago, but it is highly likely that Arab tribes were fighting each other back then. Arab military expansion out of Arabia occurred as early as 650 or so C.E. when Caliph Omar expanded the Islamic Caliphate into the Levant.

Arabs did not invent books. Books existed long before the Arabs began to use them.
The Berbers resisted Arab conquest through military campaigns, guerrilla warfare, and alliances with other groups. They also maintained their cultural identity and kept their traditional way of life, which helped to preserve their independence from Arab rule.
