Hey mine have been pierced for just under a week and I still have the 'chipmunk' pouch! Have been taking ibuprofen religiously and sucked a little ice.. but I am prepared for the swelling to remain for up to another week.
Things that can help are ibuprofen, saline/sea salt washes a couple of times daily, clean ice and keeping your mouth clean by rinsing with alcohol free mouthwash after eating/drinking anything other than water.
Also, my bars were a little tight which can hinder the healing process and keep the cheek swollen, make sure you have enough room for the swelling! It will aid the healing process :)
my dimple piercings are so swollen i have a long bar in them but my cheeck is to swollen nd im scared what do i do ?
For the basic oral piercings, ie. lip piercing, monroe, labret etc etc; the swelling begins to go down after a few days. Since the cartilage for a dimple piercing is much thicker than that of a lip piercing, the swelling will take a little bit longer to go down. Usually 3-10 days before the swelling begins to go down, depending on how much you play with the jewelery, irritate the piercing, and even how you clean it can all alter the amount of time your piercing is swollen for!
AAAAGES! But after a while you barely notice them.
i think you can be any age as long as you have a parent with you. it just depends where you go to get it done.
It can stay swollen for up to a week, depending on how it is being taken care of, and how your body reacts to it.
They don't swell. see a doctor if they are.
Well it will hurt until it heals which could be a long time (several weeks) hand web piercing is just about the most useless piercing next to dimple piercing. Hand web piercings will migrate and will get infected without question, so think about this seriously before you waste money on a piercing you won't keep. Seriously think about it first.
6-8 weeks . clean it every day with regular dial soap and remember they dont always heal
Absolutely...ice helps to bring the swelling down, but as long as you don't put it on for too long, and the piercing itself isn't constricted too tightly. I have a nose piercing too, and i do it all the time.
I'm assuming you want the piercing to create dimples? Its pretty much impossible to give you definitive answer. Everyone heals differently. Some people form dimple-like scars, and others dont. Dimple piercings are notoriously difficult to heal during the first few months, so just be aware of that :)
Dermal piercings don't last long anyways but if you get pregnant, they'll surely reject. You're skin will stretch and that kind of stress will push the piercings out.
Yes. After the piercing heals your speech will improve and will eventually return to normal.
