It's almost impossible to find a flight that goes straight from PHX to SJU. Most flights either stop in D.C. or Atlanta. The flight that stops in Atlanta is 8 hours and 10 minutes with an hour and 17 minute layover. Ideally, if you could find a nonstop flight to Puerto Rico from Phoenix it would take about 7 hours.

I forgot to mention the time difference. You would arrive in Puerto Rico later by about three hours.
