This movie is loosely (at best) tied to Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008). The character in the movie known as Sean Anderson (played by Josh Hutcherson) is in both movies. He played the son of Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) in Center of the Earth and now the stepson of Hank (Played by The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson) in Mysterious Island. See the related link for further information.
There are some guys. They go on a journey. To "the center of the Earth" (well, not literally the center, but a considerable ways down). Then (spoiler alert) they come back. That's a short summary. It might be sufficient to get you a D minus minus if you're supposed to write a summary for English class, but I doubt it; just read the book yourself, it's not all that long and it, like most of Verne's works, is actually pretty good.
It would take 120 years to go to the center of earth

Copernicus and Galileo were two key figures in the history of science who argued that the Earth is not the center of the universe, but rather orbits around the Sun. This heliocentric model challenged the long-held belief in geocentrism, where Earth was considered the center of the universe.
