Depending on internet conditions at the time and the speed of your Internet, about 6 hours. of course if you want to play the latest expansion, that's another 6 hours, then you have to download all the update patches. So all in all, if you are upgrading from vanilla wow, figure on not playing at all for at least 14-16 hours.
