The optimum time to exercise is one hour. But if you're just starting out, just a gentle 10 minute run would be best.

But you should always check with your doctor before starting to exercise, and also depending on your age, level of fitness, and the type (and intensity) of the exercise you wish to do, supervision may be best.

Making a plan with a fitness coach (or with your doctor, if they provide that service), is best, so that you don't start out too vigorously (in all seriousness, it can be dangerous).
