You have to keep stitches dry for at least two days after getting them. You should check with your doctor to see if they should be kept dry for a longer period of time.
As long as you are healing, you don't have to go back to have new stitches put in.
It varies as to where they are. This something to talk to your doctor about.
the smaller the stitches, the less likely it would come apart.. think about when you baste something.. the long stitches can easily be pulled out
It depends what you did to it and how long the stitches have been in but for 95% of injuries if you've already had stitches I wouldn't say longer than a month but I'm not a doctor
Until the doctor tells you they can be removed. They will inform you of this fact when you get the stitches. If you weren't listening, call their office and they will let you know.
The Doctor Who put them in will be able to best judge how long they need to be left in, but on average stitches on the face should be left in for 3-5 days, stitches on the body or scalp 7-10 days, and stitches on extremities 10-14 days. When a stitch is put in on a joint like the elbow or knee, the wound will take longer to heal and stitches should be left in for a full two weeks. Stitches being left in for too long risk infection and painful extraction and stitches removed too soon can result in the wound opening up again. After you are done with college and married...
as long as your scar is completely healed you should be able to
maybe it all depends how long your dog has had the stitches in and if they are opening. If they aren't just SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY bathe away from the stitches then take VERY LITTLE soap and lather up the skin and fur around the wound. When done hand wash the soap VERY CAREFULLY, this could take awhile but you don't want the stitches opening or getting infected
Until the stitches have been removed.
I would wait at least a year, since getting to know people is not easy.
