depend upon which trench and what there role was
it was hard and lots of people died then they all were thinking of families becase the loved then
During war , soldiers dig long trenches to hide from the enemy's attack. Trenches are dug in mud hence keep the trench cold and makes the survival easy for the soldier.
As long as it needed to be to "hold the front". Some of the trenches went on for miles.
soldiers lived in the trenches, you could only be a soldier if you weren't a farmer
The trenches were called saps and the people who dug them were called sappers.
That depends on how long the soldier lived for on the battlefield.
Not to my knoledge.
Horrible.
When it rained, the trenches would fill with water and the soldiers had to stay in it. When they did, they would get some fungus disease known as "trench foot" on their feet from standing in the cold muddy water for so long. There were also rats.
Trenches in WWI extended about 400 miles.
They would properly wait for orders from their superiors
they lives in the trenches for over five year i think :)
