The Mormon Trail was approximately 1,300 miles long. It would take anywhere from several weeks to several months to travel it, depending on the mode of travel, the number of people in your group, and the weather.

Keep in mind that most who traveled the Mormon trail did not originate from the beginning of the trail in the midwest of America, but came from futher away places such as Canada, New England, Great Britain, and Scandinavia. This meant that their journey was much further than just the 1,300 mile trail.
