The running time depends on two things: the actual power the inverter can supply, and the actual power drain of the loads.

A 1000 VA inverter may be able to supply 1000 VA, but it battery size determines *how long* it can supply power for. A 100 amp battery can probably supply 10 amps for 10 hours (100 amp-hours), but it may only supply 100 amps for perhaps 45 minutes - if it does not overheat! Generally, batteries give less effective power at higher power drain.

You also need to know how efficient your inverter is - it may be 90%-plus, it may be as bad as 75% or less.

So you will need to (1) find out how much power your appliances draw (let's say its 300 watts), then (2) examine the specifications for the inverter-battery combination to discover how long they can support your power drain.

Be aware that 300 watts load is over 25 amps current drain at 12 volts, so you are already getting away from the 100 amp rating, to a lower value due to the high power drain on the battery.

Will an inverter operate a sump pump?

Yes it is possible to use an inverter to run a sump pump. However it is a good solution because 120 volt pumps are very inefficient and your battery will soon be exhausted. A far better idea is to invest in a backup system with the most efficient 12 volt pump such as those from NexPump. These will pump up to 4 times as much water using the same battery.

I have a 5kVA inverter and the inverter will be off always. when the main source fails the inverter should feed supply to laod. in this case my inverter is overloaded due to initial surge. what to do?

To prevent you backup Inverter from sudden overloading. You should manually control your Inverter. When power fails. Shut down all loads. Turn on your Inverter with a with no loads on the AC line. The slowly begin to turn on loads to your backup Inverter. Start with just the lighting systems and then work you way to higher current loads such as Air Conditioning Units. Another way to solve your problem is add maybe 5 additional Units in parallel. You need to calculate all the power loads in your house is using making sure your inverter can handle the complete load. Why the Inverter fails is due to high inductive loads. The Inductive loads appear as a short circuit to you Inverter. The only way around that problem is to limit the number of inductive loads the your Inverter is supplying power to.

What is difference between inverter and converter?

A voltage stabilizer is a device that stabilizes voltage. More often, it is called a line filter. It prevents transients (high voltage spikes, etc.) from making it through to the delicate equipment connected to it. A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), on the other hand, provides power (for a short period of time - often 15 minutes) when the main power source goes down. This gives you a chance to do a proper shutdown, such as saving files and stopping the computer the correct way. (You should never "just turn off" a computer.) While a stabilizer/filter can actually persist the power, that persistence of usually only a half line cycle - 8 milliseconds - and that is not enough time to do a proper shutdown. A UPS usually also functions as a stabilizer/filter, protecting the equipment.

How long will a 600VA inverter provides backup power with 80 and 100 Amps Battery?

based on the load, your battery back up may determined.for 600va inverter u can provide a maximum load of 460w(app.)for fan its 80w and tubelight it's 40w.if your using 100ah battery, your backup for running the 2 fans and 2 light have load upto 240w is 5hours(app.).duration may differs based on the efficiency of the battery

Can you equip UPS orInverter for Mail server to have 24 hr Backup?

Yes you can use a UPS provided it can supply enough power for the server and you have good battery backup. A inverter is an option but a little bit more complicated, you will need a good battery charger and you have to run the server on the inverter alone, so the inverter will work 24/24 because you can not use mains supply to the server, so it have to be a good quality inverter, preferably a sine wave inverter with a 100% duty cycle, good batteries and a good charger that will supply enough charge to maintain the current draw of the inverter and have reserve to store energy in the batteries for times when the mains is out and the charger can not supply the energy demand.

No, you do not need a battery backup.

How much backup of 150ah battery?

Ampere Hour (Ah)The capacity of the battery is represented in Ah. It is the amount of current a battery can give during one hour of charge / discharge cycle. High capacity batteries (100 Ah, 150 Ah) are used to power inverters to get sufficient backup time. The formula to select the battery power (Ah) is Load in watts / Voltage of battery x Backup hour. For example if you wants to run 400 watts load on 12 volt battery for 3 hours, then the capacity of the battery should be minimum 100 Ah.Ah = 400 / 12 x 3 = 100 Ah. If the load increases (within the capacity of the inverter), backup time reduces.

Give the name of best inverter company present in India?

PEPTELLER Inverters India's only branded company with LCD Display in Square wave inverter models 600VA & 800VA. There are many benefits of LCD Display. 1. Displays Load % while in backup mode: You can adjust your load to keep the load % at 50%. You will get double backup time. This is not possible with LED Inverter. 2. Displays battery status: You can know the battery charge status just like you see in the mobile phone. So, you can adjust the usage of inverter according to battery charge status and get backup when it is really required. 3. Display faults and their corrective measures: In case of Overload, the warning message of "OVERLOAD" is displayed along with "SWITCH OFF EXTRA LOAD". You can easily correct the problems.
