If all goes well, about 4 hours.
You will need to...
- remove plastic shroud from under engine compartment
- disconnect coolant lines
- remove rad only, not a/c as book says
- remove rad support to get it out, it just slides out
- remove serpentine belt
- remove a brace under engine compartment to let the alternator fall out
- remove alternator
That's about it. You do NOT need to remove the a/c lines and condenser as the manual says. If you remove only the rad and remove the brace from under the motor, you have tons of room to let the alt. fall out the bottom.
I did mine about 3 months ago. It took my father and I about 2.5 hours to do as everything went rather smoothly. If I remember correctly, I think you might also have to remove the oil filter as I think it was right near the alt.
It is not as involved as it looks in the shop manual. It is a little tight so expect to do quite a bit of "fingering" bolts out. I would suggest some cotton gloves dipped in rubber to grip them.
An 01 is 199.3 inches long.
I was going crazy looking under the hood for the battery in my aurora. But checked the manual and it is actually under the back seat. Long cables go all the way back there. The back seat should easily pop up with a good tug.
bum willy bum
You CAN change the oil filter by itself and then top up the oil , but it's best to change both in the long run
An aurora can take 10 minutes to 10 days Hope this helps.
It should reset itself when the coolant is back to the appropriate level as long as the sensor is working properly. If you look in the overflow reservoir and can see coolant, the sensor or wiring might be the problem.
You can't put down the back seat in a first-generation Oldsmobile Aurora -- at least not easily. It's not designed to be folded down. There is, however, a panel behind the center armrest of the rear seat that folds forward, creating an opening that allows long. skinny items to protrude from the trunk into the passenger compartment.
It will not fit in the space provided or the posts may be reversed. As long as you connect the positive and negative terminals correctly it will function as any battery should. Just make sure you do not buy the wrong battery.
The length of time it takes to change a crankshaft position sensor on this car depends on the people working on it. It can take 1-5 hours depending on the person(s) making the change.
As long as the 1999 has the 3.5L engine, yes.
to replace the headlights on your aurora, theres 2 silver looking screws on top of the headlight assembly under the hood. take those screws out(1 long and 1 short) and CAREFULLY pull forward on the entire light assembly. theres tabs on the far inside of the light assemblies that can be loosened with a flat head screwdriver. good luck.
The total time to drive from Aurora, Colorado to Irvine, California is about 15 hours, 2 minutes.
