What could cause the voltage gauge to go UP when accelerating?

So long as it stays between 13.6 - 14.6 volts, you're fine. The alternator pulley is connected to the crankshaft pulley by a belt. As you increase speed, the crankshaft turns faster, and so does the alterator pulley.

Does the crankshaft pulley on a 1997 Plymouth neon pull or turn off?

You have to remove the bolt on the pulley, then use a appropriate puller, to pull it off, just remember you need an insert(at least 4.5 to 5" long) that goes inside of the hole that pushes against the crankshaft. The puller has to push on this insert

How do you change a crankshaft seal on a 1999 Plymouth Voyager?

Remove: the passenger side front wheel, plastic shroud around crankshaft assembly, fan belt. Remove the crankshaft bolt and heat the pulley with a heat gun, then using a 3 jaw pulley and a bushing driver (for the hole in the crank pulley), put a long screwdriver through the crank pulley to hold it still while you turn the bolt on the 3 jaw puller to take the crank pulley off. Let it cool. Pull the old seal out with a screwdriver, but be careful not to scratch the crank or damage the seal mating surface. Install the new seal with a soft face hammer flush with the timing cover housing. Lube the seal and crank pulley and start the pulley onto the shaft. Tap the pulley on and fully seat it, not using the bolt to do this, but a hammer. Once the pulley is fully seated, install the bolt and torque to 80 ft lbs. Replace t he belt, shroud and front wheel.

How long do it take to put on the crankshaft sensors?

it takes a fair length of time on most motors you have to pull the crank pulley and possibly the fan and rad.

How do you take the lower pulley off of a Volvo 940?

I'm assuming this is the crankshaft pulley you are talking about. If so, then you need a special tool to hold the pulley stationary while you use a long breaker bar to remove the center nut. The tool is available at most European parts sources.

How do you replace air conditioning belt on 2000 mitsubitsi montero?

On the tension pulley above the AC unit there is a tension bolt behind the pulley. Loosen the front nut on the front of the pulley then loosen the long bolt to drop the pulley until the belt fits. Tighten the long back bolt until the belt is tight ( see manf. recommendations on torque ) then tighten the bolt on the front of the pulley.

Lexus gs300 1994 overheat?

If your 94 GS300 has high mileage as mine does check the following. If you have plenty of coolant, the belt has proper tension, the water pump isn't leaking, the hoses aren't leaking, then you may want to check to see if the pulley on your engines crankshaft has separated. The harmonic balancer/ crankshaft pulley has been know to become defective on the GS300 after a ton of miles. My car reached the 350,000 miles mark before having trouble overheating. However, just looking at the belt and pulley spinning at normal idle with an untrained eye, you would not notice that for instance, the power steering pump pulley is rotating at a surprisingly low speed. Take a socket and long handle ratchet or breaker bar and place it over the nut in the center of the crankshaft pulley. Allow handle to wedge up next to something sturdy; next, manually try to rotate the belt a few turns to see if the the nut in the crankshaft pulley rotates or not. If it does not then you have located the problem. I hope this helps

Where is the tension pulley on a 1996 Ford Escort?

Looking down from the passenger side at the front of the engine you will see crankshaft pulley on the lower left, then the tensioner pulley, then the alternator. It has a pulley on one end and then the arm and on the other end is a 3/8 inch square hole to fit a ratchet in to release the tension to get the serpentine belt off. Looking down on it from the top you will see it. It's an arm about 7 inches long with a round pulley on the end of it. It presses down on the belt to take out the slack.

How do you remove front crankshaft pulley Toyota avensis?

Unless already removed, gently prise pulley belt off of the pulley wheel using a long flat bladed screwdriver being careful not to damage the belt itself although idealy it would be a good idea to replace it with a new one. Next using either a breaker bar with an extention ie. a piece of pipe, or a impact wrench loosen the securing bolt. This is usually held on with a half inch bolt. You may need a woodruff key on some models and also a puller to remve the pulley itself. Sometimes you may be lucky and the pulley wheel will jiggle off. When you have replaced the pulley wheel you will need a torque qrench and tighten the securing bolt to 108Nm. Second hand pulley would be avail at a breakers yard. Mr T charges the earth!!

What is the routing for a serpentine belt for a 1992 Chevy van?

There are many different variations on equipment that determine different routings for the belt. What size engine and what equipment is on yours? Power Steering? Air Conditioner? That kind of stuff. On the chance it might be a 5.7L (350 cubic inches) V8, with P/S & A/C and has an alternator and P/S pump on the driver side, the A/C compressor on the passenger side, here goes: If you're facing the van, standing in front of it, driver side on your right: The crankshaft pulley is the bottom most pulley and is in the center. Immediately above that is the water pump and slightly lower and to the right might be the P/S pump. Up top on the left is the A/C compressor pulley, the tensioner is in the center and the alternator is on the right. One thing to remember: you have to use a long handled socket on the tensioner to get the belt to fit. It's best to route the belt all the way around all the pulley's except for the alternator and save it for last. Then while applying a lot of pressure on the tensioner, you can place the belt over the alternator pulley. A picture would be easier, but I don't have access to do that right now. The belt goes around and under the crankshaft pulley. Starting with the right hand side of the belt coming from the bottom of the crankshaft pulley, the path goesto the left of the water pump pulley, around the top of it and down under the power steering pump pulley, all the way up and to the right of the alternator pulley and over the top of it, then down under the tensioner pulley and over the top of the air conditioner compressor pulley whereupon it returns to the left side of the crankshaft pulley.
