The community and junior colleges are two year programs of study as a full-time student, and provided the student takes the program as prescribed by the college. Most of the so-called basics are covered within the first year. All of this is also dependent on the results of the college basic skills test. If the results indicate a student is required to take some developmental coursework as a result of that test, then it would take longer. How much longer depends on how much developmental coursework the student needs.
