There's no definitive answer, but I'm sure a handful of students with 1300's have gotten into an Ivy League school.

Unfortunately, these students probably have near perfect GPA's, a stellar list of extracurriculars with several leadership positions, a creative essay that is sincere and stands out, ridiculously good recommendation letters, a lot of AP classes, a great interview (must have a fantastic personality), academic honors, volunteer hours, and perhaps a few connections to the school.

Don't box in your college search by a school's reputation. There are so many other factors that are more important- location, population, majors, diversity, sports, etc. Just because it's an ivy league doesn't mean it's right for you. I encourage you to look beyond the Ivies. There are so many other great schools out there! NYU, Duke, UChicago, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Northwestern, Boston College etc. And you may even want to look into state schools.

Is Rice U ivy league?

It is important to keep in mind that the Ivy League merely refers to an outdated football conference established in the early part of the 20th century. Members of the "Ivy League" football conference include: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania, Brown, and Cornell. Stanford, MIT, and CalTech are not part of the Ivy League, even though their academics rival those of the Ivy League schools. Therefore, Rice is not part of the Ivy League football conference. However, its academics rival those of many Ivy League schools. Rice University is considered a "Southern Ivy" and was named a "New Ivy" by Newsweek magazine in 2006 because its academics are just as good, if not better, than those offered by Ivy League schools.
