The Thunder Jet was the standard engine in the Cobra. There were 7,675 Cobras made in 1970. I cannot find a breakdown on how man came with the standard Thunder Jet engine and how many came with the Cobra Jet & Super Cobra Jet engines.
80 different nations competed in the 2006 Torino Olympics.
The distance from Seoul to Torino is 6570 miles (10573 km).
The 429-4V was available in three different versions. The first was the 429 Thunder Jet, the standard engine for the Cobra, rated at 360 hp (270 kW). Next was the 429 CJ (Cobra Jet), rated at 370 hp (280 kW), which included a 2-bolt main block, hydraulic lifters, a 700 CFM Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. and was available with or without Ram Air. The top 429 option was the 429 SCJ (Super Cobra Jet), rated a 375 hp (280 kW), and was part of the "Drag Pack" option. These engines were underrated for insurance purposes, and made around 420 -440 h.p. How many were installed in the convertible I do not know. Not sure how many 4 speeds, but I know there was 125 automatic 429 Thunder Jet 1970 Ford Torino GT convertibles made. I also know there there were a total of 19 automatic, and 4 speed 429 super cobra jet torino convertibles made in 1970, some ram air, some non-ram air. There are a total of 7 accounted for today in SCJ for 70'. There were no super cobra jets offered in a torino in 1971. Hope that helps a little.
My research that I have found there were 546 or 596 Type N/W made. This is wrong, there were only 395 built, but they had plans to build around that much.
yes they are except for fabric, i had many of these cars and swapped lots of parts.
There were 2,170 convertible GTOs in 1970.
The Ford Gran Torino was originally released in the year 1972. It is an amazing vehicle, loved by many, sought after, and still driven by many people today.
