The best number is around 11,000 but that may be the total from its inception. There are no yearly production numbers on this bike. I am not sure that the above figure is accurate.
An FXLR is a "Low Rider Custom" -- it is part of the FX family (i.e., an FX frame) of big twins manufactured by the Motor Company beginning (I believe) in late 80s through 1994 (not including the one-off FXR2, FXR3 and FRX4 models). An FXLR has a solid rear wheel and a 21" laced front wheel (as does the FXR2). I believe (but am not certain) that the rake and trail is different than the other FX models that have 19" front wheels. The FXLR handle bars are unique, to which the speedometer is fastened together with the turn signal, hig beam, and oil pressure indicator lights. There is no gas tank-mounted "dash board." The FXLR is probably the best handling of the FX models, which many die hard Harley riders swear is the best handling big twin the Motor Company ever built.
