Slaves would come from small villages that they lived in. African slaves came from various countries in Africa and were sold by other Africans to Europeans to be shipped to the Americas.
The majority of the people that lived in Virginia were English who brought along African slaves. The class that came over from England were merchants.
Because African Americans had never lived in America...they were foreign... The white people used them as slaves, because they thought lowly of them.
