Practically all 13 colonies fought for their independence but some people in some colonies were fence-sitters (couldn't decide) or loyalists (was still loyal to the British and was on British side).

When British people were settled in America, the people are not happy with British because of tax. As a result of some things that Britain did, such as: The Stamp Act, BS,... The colonist have been made. 13 states have joined the colonists, the colonists were known as: The Thirteen States.
