King Philip choose Medina Sidonia to lead the Spanish Armada as he was someone he could trust. But he hadn't been choose first, Philips first choice to lead the Armada was Santa Cruz but he died.

Assuming you mean the Spanish Armada - that particular armada, and there were three armadas, attacked in 1588. Elizabeth died in 1603.
It was not nice people died of pestilence which was on their food and many people were seasick alot of peole got killed during the war and many hospital ships were destroyed
