Many were bombed in one amount or another. London, Coventry Portsmouth & Plymouth were the most seriously affected. However this does not compare, except in the case of London, with the amount of bombing suffered later in the war against German centres of population.

∙ 11y agolondon obviously suffered the most. night after night the city burned and crumbled from the result of german "carpet bombing" and rocket attacks. notably the city of coventry sufferd terrible destruction due to a strategic target for the luftwaffa and also plymouth, portsmouth, southampton, bristol, birmingham, sheffield, leeds, liverpool, manchester, glasgow and newcastle suffered significant damage from major raids around 1941. most cities and towns in the u.k. sufferd some sort of aerial attack at the hands of the german luftwaffa during the duration of World War 2
