Only one ip address to be registered on the internet, which is normally fixed by your isp provider
169.x.x.x is an IP address that is assigned to your PC if it cannot receive an address from a DHCP server. You usually get this IP if your PC cannot reach your DHCP server (typically your Internet modem/router/firewall) because of a network problem. Check that your PC has a link to the network.
The IP address identifies a server in a network and to the internet in the IP protocol. (IP means Internet Protocol) Many important communication protocols rely on the IP protocol. You are reading this message from the internet, so your computer has an IP address. The IP address for your home computer is assigned by your ISP (your service provider). It is usually dynamically assigned when your modem connects to the network. To view your IP address on a windows server, get a command window (Start > run > type "cmd") and type the command "ipconfig".

Internet Protocal's are assigned through a Modem ( If your a Time Warner Cable customer then you have a modem) Modems feed off a IP assigned by the TWC Data Center! Your Wireless Router is connected to the modem so your ip is the same.
It's beauty of DHCP servers that you don't need to worry about your IP settings. Nothing will happend to your ip address configuration. But you might get another ip address when you next time connect your PC to the network. It's not a big deal unless you are using ip address in the Remote Desktop Manager.
The IP address for a PC is not difficult to find. Usually it can be found through the service of internet on the PC. Otherwise it can be found on the hard drive on the computer.

Every PC connected to the internet has got a unique ip.
It is the IP address that allows computers to be accessed from other computers. In a way, this is like a name for the computer.
You have to install a router with a DHCP server option on. In that way the public address will be assign to the router and your PC will get a private ip address from the DHCP server.
Because without an IP address a device cannot communicate on a network. Within a LAN, an IP address must be unique.
It may be your IP Address on your PC/Computer/Laptop.
